Friends & HOPE is more than a place to volunteer — it is a ministry with a clear purpose: to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Everything we do, from serving a cup of coffee to hosting an event, giving away a Bible, or simply sitting down for a conversation, is an opportunity to reflect the love of Christ.
We are looking for people who share that purpose and want to use their time, gifts and abilities to be part of what God is doing through Friends & HOPE.

God has uniquely gifted each of us, and there are many different ways those gifts can be used here. You may love working with people, creating, organizing, serving behind the scenes, welcoming guests, praying, teaching, or simply being someone who is willing to listen. You don't have to fit a particular mould or have all the answers. What matters is a willingness to serve, a heart for people, and a desire to point others toward Jesus through whatever role God gives you.

Our Current Needs:
Coffee Shop Helper
Serve at Friends Coffee Shop
Friends Coffee Shop is one of the ways the HOPE Centre lives out its mission in the community. From welcoming someone through the door and serving a cup of coffee to preparing food, washing dishes and keeping the café looking its best, our volunteers help create a warm and welcoming environment where friendships can grow and opportunities to share the Gospel can happen naturally.
If you have a few hours to give and would enjoy serving alongside others who share your heart for Jesus, we would love to have you be part of the Friends team.
This role would be a great fit for someone who:

Has strong interpersonal skills and enjoys connecting with people.

Loves creating a welcoming, Christ-centred environment.

Is comfortable serving customers and working as part of a team.

Is willing to help with a variety of café tasks, including serving, food preparation, dishes, cleaning and restocking.

Is consistent, dependable and able to commit to regular, scheduled hours.

A few details: The HOPE Centre is currently open Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM, and Saturday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM. This volunteer opportunity will fall within these days and hours and currently requires approximately 5–8 hours per week.
