Scars Are Proof That God Heals

Your scars are evidence. Evidence of overcoming. Evidence of courage.

Evidence of being carried.

Of being loved enough to invest in. To rescue. To heal.

Wounds are different than scars. We can’t effectively minister from our wounds.

But when He’s done His work in us and the wounds have been transformed. And the scars are ready to be beacons of hope for others….

Well, they just become the most beautiful reminders of Who He is and What He can do.

Jesus, raised from death - kept His scars.

Have you considered this? Evidence of His crucifixion could all have been erased.

But we know He kept the scars. Jesus, raised from death and transformed, kept His scars.

I love everything about this. Evidence of His choice for us. Evidence of the most important love story ever told.

Evidence that scars tell very important stories.

If you’re wondering today about your scars. If you think they’re too gnarly to expose. I get that.

My goodness, I get that.

I don’t know exactly what God has planned for you and your scars.

But I imagine when He’s done the healing work, and He’s lifted you back on your feet - transformed and new on the other side of it all.

That He’ll have something very important for them. Someone very important who will need to know you get it.

In the meantime, pray. Ask Him for the courage to use your story. For the right moment and the right someone.

Your scars are sacred reminders of a God Who steps in and makes all things new.

Let Him.

“See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.”

And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet.”

‭‭Luke‬ ‭24‬:‭39‬-‭40‬ ‭(ESV‬‬)
